SERVICE AWARD IN GOLD
This item
depicted in the images below is an original NSDAP LONG SERVICE AWARD IN GOLD. The
NSDAP long service awards were introduced in three classes
in 1939 in order to award to long serving party members.
Award criteria included loyalty and special efforts to and
for the party. Efforts between 1925 and January 1933 (before
Hitler seized power) were recognized by doubling the years
in service for the purpose of issuance. The three classes
for this award were for twenty-five years service (gold),
fifteen years service for the second class (silver), and ten
years service for the third class (bronze). The inscription reads “Treue
für Führer und Volk” (“Loyalty for Fuhrer and People”). The cross is suspended
by a gilt ring from a very clean award ribbon (sewn together at the top). A very
handsome example of one of the rarest and most impressive of long (faithful)
