Up for auction is an original German WW II Luftwaffe (German Air force) Glider Badge. The Glider Badge is among the most sought after Luftwaffe awards and extremely hard to come by. Recipients of the award needed to complete the training for glider pilots - mostly elite units and from paratrooper divisions. The piece is marked on the back. The badge is in excellent condition. REFERENCE:  Detlev Niemann "Price Guide. Orders and decorations Germany" 2004, page 671, catalogue price is 1500 EURO ($1800).
