ORIGINAL Rare German WW2 Motor Sports Badge in GOLD                         
Up for auction is this original and rare German Motor Sports Badge in Gold. Only 91 awarded. This award was introduced in 1938. Pursuant to a point system the badge was awarded to race drivers as well as long distance and cross country drivers. The gold edition of the Motor Sports Badge was issued to drivers who reached 150 points (50 for bronze, 100 for silver).
REFERENCEs:  Detlev Niemann "Price Guide. Orders and decorations Germany" 2004, page 371, catalogue price is 2000 EURO ($2500). Helmut Weitze is selling the same badge in miniature for 1650 EURO ($2000) - item #49927.  Also you can see: Lothar Hartung catalogue "Auszeichnungen des 3. Reiches", spezialkatalog 2005/2006, item #330, page 107, catalogue price is 4000 EURO ($5000).
