HJ KNIFE

The HJ knife is made of nickel-plated material with two checkered pressed bakelite grips secured by two rivets. The obverse grip shows the insignia of the HJ, the well-known diamond sign in red, black and white. The crossguard consists of a single upswept quillon. The scabbard is made of sheet metal and painted black. It is possible to find the knife also with a blued scabbard. Connected to the scabbard with a rived is a leather strap to hang the knife to a belt. The knife is 25 cm long. The HJ knife can be found with and without the HJ motto on the obverse blade. The HJ knifes made from 1933 until August 1938 only show the motto “Blut und Ehre”. After this date, the knife doesn't have the 'Blut und Ehre' motto but has the RZM control sign and sometimes also a makers mark. The HJ knife has no portepee. The HJ knife is not the same as the NS Student knife and the DJ knife.
